THEODORE PITSIOS

Theodore Pitsios, born in the Village of Tsagarada, Greece, has produced his first novel, The Bellmaker's House. During his lifetime he has sailed as an engineer for the Merchant Marine, lived in the Bahamas and Florida and travels extensively. Currently, he divides his time between Mobile, Alabama and Greece.

What was your biggest motivation to write The Bellmaker's House?

To get out of doing home chores for my wife was a great motivational factor! Also, I wanted to share and enlighten others about the Village of Tsagarada , the unique people and events that have taken place, in fiction form.

Outside of work and writing, what other hobbies or interests do you enjoy?

To name only a few, I enjoy gardening, specifically Bonsai trees, as well as world travel and perfroming in theater productions.

Please share with us some of your favorite authors and influences.

I really enjoy William McFee and Elias Venezis.

Are the characters, events and location set in The Bellmaker's House a work of fiction?

The story line and people in the book are based on true events and individuals. The location is set in the Village I was raised in of Tsagarada in Greece. I often visit Tsagarada and have friends and family still living there.

You mention you have a love of travel. Where have you visited?

Before moving to the United States, I served in the Merchant Marines, affording me many opportunities to travel the globe on numerous occasions.

What are your expectations for The Bellmaker's House?

As I mentioned before, to share a story of events that are based on true facts, however financially all proceeds will be donated to the University of South Alabama. This contribution will go toward Hellenic - Greek - Studies.

Now that The Bellmaker's House is published, do you have any plans to continue writing?

At this time, I am working on a second draft for another book and I will release information when it is closer to publication.
